Breeding and COIs
I have added the COIs of all my dogs to this site. This is a measure of the intensity of their inbreeding and is known as the coefficient of Inbreeding. The British Kennel Club does not have a recommended level as yet, although they have thankfully banned parent x child matings.
The Swedish Whippet Club however does have a strong recommendation that breeders do not breed litters with a higher COI than 6,25%
Thanks to Gay Robertson, who is the breeder of the famous Moonlake Whippets for working out my COI levels.
I don't have any showing news as I am not showing this year, my business is needing rather a lot of attention as it grows, and we haven't bred a litter for a couple of years. Irene Straughan, my partner in showing and breeding has had a couple of knee replacements which naturally precludes her running around after puppies for a while
We may have a litter in about 6 months. Please don't ask me to reserve a puppy but I am very happy to take your details and let you know if and when we have a litter.
